Nathan surprised me with my very first blue box. Yes, THE blue box. I've had my eye on this beauty, a sterling silver and titanium ID bracelet in 'midnight' (part of the 1837 collection) for awhile now, ever since I gave Nathan the matching ring for Christmas a couple of years ago. I absolutely love it, even more than I imagined I would. Coincidentally, 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is a favorite film of ours (visiting the flagship store during our visit to Manhattan last summer was a highlight of the trip), and arguably went a long way toward making Tiffany & Co. the gold standard it is today, so untying that white satin bow was quite a moment for me! =)
In return, Nathan decided we choose a joint-gift instead of something just for him, and we happened to be at Costco at the exact moment when they'd just run out of stock on this gem and were selling the floor model at a heavy discount; they'd only been carrying the model a couple of months. We've been price-watching sets for awhile now as they've been plummeting, and the discount was so attractive we couldn't pass it up. And so we're bidding our old 51" Sony Rear-Projection Flat Panel set a fond farewell; it held up nicely over the last six-and-a-half years, but it's time to move onward and upward. Above is our new Sharp Aquos 52" LCD panel. The picture and clarity is completely amazing; our old set was also HD, but the new set seems even crisper, more vivid, and more 'WOW!'. I can't wait to watch 'Planet Earth' on the new one!
We had a lovely Valentine's Day celebration, and it was definitely one of the nicest I can remember. =)

*sigh* I remember my first blue box a few years ago... *giggle*
And Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my favorite-est flicks of ALL TIME.
You too?!? N and I have this in common as well. I made certain to visit THE store in Manhattan last summer; that was my first trip. =)
